Data freshness banner

Last updated 2026-06-14

Definition

The data freshness banner tells you how recent the number on screen is. Because Quri caches reads to stay fast, a figure might be a few minutes old — so a small banner shows its last fetch time and gives you a refresh control. You always know if the figure on screen is cached or the latest.

How to do this in Quri

  1. Open any metric view in /app and look near the top for the freshness banner.
  2. Read the last-fetched time to see how recent the figure on screen is.
  3. Carry on if it is recent enough for your decision.
  4. Use the refresh control in the banner to pull the latest value when you need it.

Frequently asked

How do I know if a number is current?
The freshness banner shows when that value was last fetched. If it is older than you like, the refresh control next to it pulls the latest from the source, and the banner updates to the new time.
Why show a banner instead of always live data?
Caching keeps Quri fast, which means a value can be a little old. The banner makes that honest and visible rather than pretending every figure is live, and the refresh control is right there when you want the newest.
