MCP federation (bring your own MCP)

Last updated 2026-06-21

Definition

MCP federation lets you connect your own upstream tool — Google Ads, PostHog, Meta Ads — so Quri’s assistant reads it under your credentials. You authorize through OAuth once; Quri stores the scoped token, encrypted and tied to your workspace, and queries it on your behalf. Disconnect any time and the token is purged immediately.

How to do this in Quri

  1. Open /app/connect and find the Federated MCPs section.
  2. Pick the upstream (Google Ads, PostHog, or Meta Ads) and authorize it through OAuth.
  3. Quri stores the scoped token, encrypts it, and verifies the connection.
  4. Ask Quri in chat what is connected, or disconnect any upstream from the same screen.

Frequently asked

Does Quri see my upstream password?
No. You authorize through the upstream’s own OAuth, which returns a scoped token. Quri never sees or stores your password — only the token, encrypted and tied to your workspace.
Can I connect a federated MCP from chat?
The assistant can list what is already connected and hand you straight into the connect flow, but the credential itself is exchanged through the secure OAuth screen — never pasted into chat.
