Segment proactive alerts

Segment proactive alerts watch each slice on its own, not just the headline number. When one city, device, or cohort moves abnormally — even while the global metric looks calm — Quri flags that segment specifically. A problem hiding inside an otherwise flat total surfaces early, so you catch the city that cratered before it drags the rest down.
How to do this in Quri
- Open /app/segments and break a metric down by the dimension you want watched.
- Turn on alerts for that breakdown so Quri tracks each segment’s own baseline.
- Choose where alerts land — email, Slack, or another channel.
- When a single segment strays past its baseline, Quri sends the alert naming that slice.
Frequently asked
- How is a segment alert different from a normal anomaly alert?
- A normal alert watches the overall metric. A segment alert watches each slice separately, so a single city or cohort breaking pattern is caught even when the blended total hardly moves.
- How does Quri decide a segment moved abnormally?
- It learns each segment’s own recent baseline and flags moves large enough to matter, the same sigma-based approach Quri uses for global anomaly detection, applied slice by slice.
