What this unlocks

Reddit is where founders, buyers, and your competitors’ customers talk in the open. Connect it and Quri pulls recent Reddit posts that name your brand or a tracked competitor, scores each one positive, neutral, or negative, and folds that buzz into the answers you ask it for.

Connect it in Quri

  1. Reddit listening is on by default — it reads Reddit without any key, so there is nothing to paste at /app/connect to get started.
  2. Tell Quri which brand and competitor names to watch (it reuses the same list your competitor tools already use), then ask "what are people saying about us on Reddit?" in chat.
  3. Heads up: Quri reads Reddit from a cloud server, and Reddit sometimes throttles those servers — so coverage is best-effort and can miss posts. When Reddit blocks a request, Quri simply returns nothing for that pass rather than erroring.
  4. Want sturdier coverage? Create a Reddit app (steps below) and send Quri the app ID and secret; we switch on the authenticated path, which Reddit treats far more kindly than the keyless feeds.

Get your credentials

  1. Sign in to Reddit and open reddit.com/prefs/apps (Settings → Safety & Privacy → Manage third-party app authorization also links here).
  2. Click "Create app" (or "Create another app") at the bottom.
  3. Give it a name like "Quri social listening", choose the "script" or "web app" type, and put any URL you control in the redirect field — the authenticated read path does not use it.
  4. Create the app, then copy the client ID (the short string shown just under the app’s name) and the "secret" value.
  5. Send Quri the ID and secret and ask us to turn on the authenticated Reddit path for your account.

Access Quri reads with

  • Read-only, public data only — Quri reads public Reddit posts and never reads private messages, never posts, votes, or comments, and never acts as your Reddit account.
  • The optional app uses an app-level token (Reddit’s userless "client credentials" flow), so it is tied to the Quri app, not to your personal Reddit login or any subreddit you moderate.

Troubleshooting

Quri shows few or no Reddit mentions even though I know people are posting.
The keyless Reddit feeds are best-effort and Reddit can throttle requests coming from a datacenter, so a quiet result does not always mean a quiet week. Create a Reddit app and send Quri the ID and secret — the authenticated path is much more reliable — and widen the brand and competitor terms you track.
Do I have to create a Reddit app to use this?
No. Reddit listening runs keyless out of the box with no key at all. The app is purely an optional upgrade for steadier coverage; set it up only if the default results look thin.
Can Quri post or reply on Reddit for me?
No. This connection is read-only and only ever looks at public posts. Quri never posts, comments, votes, or sends messages on Reddit, and the optional app token carries no write permission.
I sent the app ID and secret but nothing changed.
Both values are needed together — an ID without its secret is ignored and Quri stays on the keyless path. Re-copy the secret from reddit.com/prefs/apps (regenerate it if you are unsure it is current) and send the pair again.
