What this unlocks
Connect WhatsApp as a source and Quri reads your WhatsApp Business signals — conversation volume, messaging cost, and your product catalog — so it can fold the chat side of your funnel into its answers and alerts.
Connect it in Quri
- Reading WhatsApp as a source is configured by the Quri team — there is no WhatsApp tile at /app/connect yet, and the exact onboarding is being finalised.
- Set up the WhatsApp Business Cloud API in Meta and gather your business account ID, catalog ID, and a system-user access token (see the provider steps below).
- Share those values with Quri and ask us to enable WhatsApp reading for your account.
- This guide covers Quri *reading* WhatsApp. To have Quri *send* alerts over WhatsApp, see the alerts setup — that is the delivery-channel side and is configured separately.
Get your credentials
- Open Meta for Developers and create (or open) the app that holds your WhatsApp Business account.
- In the left menu choose WhatsApp, then API Setup, and note the phone number ID and the WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) ID.
- Link your product catalog to the WABA in Meta Commerce Manager and copy its catalog ID.
- Create a System User in Meta Business Suite and generate a system-user access token granted whatsapp_business_messaging and whatsapp_business_management — set it to never expire so it does not lapse every 60 days.
- Get message templates approved in Meta before relying on them; Meta reviews each template.
- Send Quri the business account ID, catalog ID, and system-user token.
Access Quri reads with
- Read-only access via the system-user token — Quri reads conversation analytics and your product catalog and never sends messages from this connection.
- The token needs whatsapp_business_management (read the account/catalog) and whatsapp_business_messaging; grant nothing broader on the system user.
Troubleshooting
- Quri cannot read my WhatsApp data and mentions the phone number ID.
- The phone number ID is Meta’s internal identifier for the number, not the number itself. Copy it from WhatsApp → API Setup in the Meta app dashboard rather than typing the dialling number, and re-send it to Quri.
- A message template is not working.
- Templates must be approved by Meta before they can be used, and an edited template returns to review. Check the template’s status in Meta Business Suite; Quri can only use templates Meta has approved.
- Is connecting WhatsApp here the same as getting Quri alerts on WhatsApp?
- No. This guide is about Quri reading WhatsApp Business as a data source. Sending Quri’s alerts to a WhatsApp number is the delivery-channel side, set up in your alert preferences — they are configured independently.
