Session-recording playback

Last updated 2026-06-14

Definition

Session-recording playback lets you jump straight from a journey step into the video of what that person did. Saw a user stall at checkout on their timeline? Open the matching recording and watch the exact session — the clicks, the hesitation, the dead end. You move from a number to the real behaviour behind it.

How to do this in Quri

  1. Connect a recording source like Clarity or PostHog to Atlas.
  2. Open a person in /app/atlas/users and read their timeline.
  3. Find a step with a linked recording and open the deep link.
  4. Watch the matching session to see exactly what the user did at that step.

Frequently asked

Which session does the deep link open?
The recording that matches the step you clicked — same person, same session — so you watch the moment in question, not a random replay you would have to hunt for.
What if a journey step has no recording?
Then there is nothing to play. Recordings only exist where your recording tool captured them, and some events — server-side or pre-tag — never had a session to record.
